International Shang Shung Institute Membership 2011

Please consider becoming a member of the international Shang Shung Institute for 2011! Your membership will help us continue our very important work for the preservation of Tibetan Culture. In particular you will help support the SSI-USA School of Tibetan Medicine, our program of free Tibetan Medicine webcasts, the translation work of ancient texts of wisdom (Ka-ter Translation Project), the preservation of the Teachings of Tibetan Masters, work on publications of books and practice materials like DVDs, CDs and MP3s, and all of our other wonderful projects!

Starting this year, the International Shang Shung Institute will offer two different kinds of membership:

1. Discounted SSI membership for Dzogchen Community members

2. Single Membership in the Shang Shung Institute

1. DISCOUNTED SSI MEMBERSHIP FOR DZOGCHEN COMMUNITY MEMBERS

In October, 2010 Chögyal Namkhai Norbu authorized the International Shang Shung Institute to include its membership alongside Dzogchen Community membership as an optional package. Therefore, if you are already a member of the International Dzogchen Community, then you can buy Shang Shung Institute membership at a discounted rate, and with increased benefits!!

In recent years the Dzogchen Community and the Institute have become more closely connected, helping each other and providing more joint services to practitioners (such as webcasts, membership, publications, course coordination, The Mirror, the Archive, and much more).

Becoming a discounted SSI member is very easy: after you renew your membership in the Dzogchen Community through your local Gakyil, you can purchase Shang Shung memberships directly through our website (links below). Of course, the choice to become a member of the Shang Shung Institute after renewing Dzogchen Community membership is totally voluntary.

Benefits for DISCOUNTED SSI MEMBERS

Discounted Reduced Member 2011

Each discounted reduced member gets:

· a free online-version of THE MIRROR, (if your gar doesn't already give this benefit)

· a 20% discount on one ONLINE course offered by the SSI (i.e. Tibetan language courses, Tibetan Medicine courses, etc.), *

· a 5% discount on all SSI courses when attending in person,*

Fees:

$70 US for DC membership

Discounted Ordinary Member 2011

Each discounted ordinary member gets:

· a free online-version of THE MIRROR, (if your gar doesn't already give this benefit)

· a 20% discount on one ONLINE course offered by the SSI (i.e. Tibetan language courses, Tibetan Medicine courses, etc.), *

· a 10% discount on all courses offered by the SSI when attending in person* 

· a 10% discount on Health and Beauty Products, 

· a free copy of the 2011/2012 Merigar calendar for the metal rabbit year.  

Fees:

$50 US for SSI membership

$180 US for DC membership,

Discounted Sustaining Member 2011

Each discounted sustaining member gets:

· a free online-version and/or printed version of THE MIRROR, (if your gar doesn't already give this benefit)

· free access to one ONLINE course offered by the SSI (i.e. Tibetan language courses, Tibetan Medicine courses, etc.),*

· a 20% discount on all courses offered by the SSI when attending in person, *

· a free copy of the 2011/2012 Merigar calendar for the metal rabbit year.

Discounted Meritorious Member 2011

Each discounted meritorious member gets:

· a free online-version and printed version of THE MIRROR (if DC membership at your Gar already includes a copy of THE MIRROR, then you can choose to either receive a second subscription, or to give it as a gift to someone else), 

· free access to TWO ONLINE courses offered by the SSI (i.e. Tibetan language courses, Tibetan Medicine courses, etc.), * 

· a 25% discount on all courses offered by the SSI when attending in person, * 

· a 10% discount on all public books published by SSI in printed and digital versions, 

· a 10% discount on Health and Beauty Products, 

· a free copy of the 2011/2012 Merigar calendar for the metal rabbit year.

2. SINGLE MEMBERSHIP IN THE SHANG SHUNG INSTITUTE

If you do not wish to become a member of the Dzogchen Community, don't worry - you can still do your part to support the Shang Shung Institute! In 2011, single memberships work the same way as they did in past years. They do not require Dzogchen Community Membership as a pre-requisite.

Each single membership lasts from the date of payment until December 31st of the same year. It does not renew automatically.

Single Ordinary SSI Membership 2011

Each ordinary SSI member gets:

· a crystal with the logo of the Shang Shung Institute printed inside OR the 2011/2012 Merigar calendar for the metal rabbit year;

· a luxury ballpoint pen of the SSI; 

· free mailing of these gifts to anywhere in the world; 

Fee: $70 US

Single Sustaining SSI Membership 2011

Each sustaining SSI member gets:

· a crystal with the logo of the Shang Shung Institute printed inside OR the 2011/2012 Merigar calendar for the metal rabbit year; 

· a CD OR a DVD (produced by the SSI) of your choice from our website; 

· a luxury ballpoint pen of the SSI; 

· free mailing of these gifts to anywhere in the world

Fee: $160 US

Single Meritorious SSI Membership 2011

Each meritorious SSI member gets:

· a crystal with the SSI-logo printed inside OR the 2011/2012 Merigar calendar for the metal rabbit year; 

· a crystal with a Tibetan A printed inside; 

· One CD or DVD (produced by the SSI), AND one book (produced by Shang Shung Edizioni) of your choice from our website;

· a luxury ballpoint pen of the SSI; 

· a very nice and useful time scheduler for 2011 called TEAMWORK (25,5 x 17,5 cm); 

· an SSI calculator;
