Kunye Massage
Kunye Tibetan Massage is one of the oldest forms of massage on Earth. Originally developed by yogis to balance energetic channels and chakras, Kunye Tibetan Massage has developed into an important branch of Tibetan Medicine. The application of the hand made herbal infused oils in Kunye are applied based on the season and the condition of the individual and serve as a great preventive health precaution as well as a way to balance ones condition. In the medicine practice Kunye is indicated for conditions associated with disturbance of the wind element, also known as lung in Tibetan. Symptoms associated with wind disturbance include all mental conditions, insomnia, anxiety, nervousness, depression, exhaustion, stress and tension. Likewise Kunye is very helpful for relieving muscle tension throughout the body as well as nerve and joint pain. Additional applications in Kunye can include hot or cold stones, warm oil, essential oils, and gemstones depending on the condition and requests of the client. During the massage oil is applied, the muscles are massaged and pressure and warmth is applied to critical muscle releasing and wind points. Offered by Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo, LMT and Matthew Schmookler, LMT, Kunye Massage is a fantastic way to stay relaxed and balanced.
